Shockwave Therapy for ED in Phoenix, AZ

You’ve probably seen the ads. Shockwave for ED is everywhere right now, and not all of it is the same treatment.

Here’s what shockwave actually does, why the device matters more than the marketing, and how we use it.

What Shockwave Therapy Does

Low-intensity shockwave therapy sends pulses of acoustic energy into the erectile tissue. That energy triggers a repair response: new small blood vessels, better blood flow, and healthier tissue over time.

It isn’t a quick fix like a pill. The goal is to improve how things work on their own, which is why results build over weeks to months.

Focused vs. Radial: Why the Device Matters

Not every “shockwave” device is the same. Many clinics use radial or “acoustic wave” devices, which spread energy near the surface. Most of the randomized trial evidence for ED comes from focused, low-intensity devices that deliver energy deeper into the erectile tissue.

We use the Storz Duolith, a true focused shockwave device. If you’re comparing clinics, it’s the first question worth asking: is your device focused or radial?

Is Shockwave Right for You?

Shockwave works best when it’s aimed at the right problem. That’s why we start with health testing and an in-office penile Doppler ultrasound. More on how we evaluate ED.
Men with mild to moderate ED caused by blood flow problems tend to respond best. It’s less effective when ED comes mainly from nerve damage, such as after prostate surgery.
Shockwave works best as part of a plan that addresses the cause, alongside treatments like PRP and Botox. That’s why it’s a core part of our ED Complete Program, and why we rarely recommend it on its own.

Our Shockwave Protocol

Low-intensity, focused shockwave, twice a week, for up to 12 treatments over six weeks.

Each session takes about 20 minutes. No numbing, no needles, and no downtime.

What Treatment Is Like

A handheld applicator is moved along the shaft and base of the penis. Most men feel a tapping or mild buzzing sensation.
You can go right back to your day. There’s no recovery time.
Usually none. Occasionally there’s mild redness, tenderness, or minor bruising that fades within a day or two.
Some men benefit from occasional maintenance sessions. We’ll track your progress and recommend them only if you need them.

When Will I Notice a Difference?

Some men notice changes during the six-week series, but most of the improvement builds over the one to three months after it ends, as new blood vessels form.

Results vary. Your plan and expectations will be based on your own evaluation.

What the Evidence Says

Randomized trials and pooled analyses show that low-intensity focused shockwave improves erectile function in men with ED caused by blood flow problems, especially mild to moderate cases. Results are less consistent in severe ED.

Professional guidelines differ: European urology guidelines support it for mild ED caused by blood flow problems, while U.S. guidelines have been more cautious. We’ll tell you honestly whether you’re a good candidate.
